Construction Going Green

Earth Day

April 22, 2022

Earth Day—it's a day we reflect on what we can do to create awareness and to learn different ways to protect our planet while addressing environmental issues. From water, gas to electricity and materials, green commercial building construction is becoming more popular.

The International Energy Agency states nearly Eco-friendly and/or green construction is in the forefront of many millennials and other generations. Creating a sustainable environment is healthy, clean and safe.

One of the most important ways the construction industry is supporting the environment is through LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environment Design)—most widely used green building rating system in the world.

The LEED program run by the U.S. Green Building Council which provides certification for buildings that have a reduced impact on the environment. Depending on how much a structure is environmentally-friendly, LEED certification ranks from Silver, Gold and Platinum.

LEED certified buildings range from commercial buildings, universities/colleges and data centers, etc.

For construction companies working with architects to create a sustainable building, there are many ways to consider how to go green—digital strategies (using smart devices to connect building management systems), hot water systems, renewable HVAC equipment, etc.

We are proud to service buildings that are sustainable and environmentally-friendly. As part of our LEED cleaning services, we provide the best and least toxic chemicals on the market. It's important to RMJS that we support the ways we can protect our planet not only on Earth Day but everyday.
